5-6-2008 From Christian Hansen
I have ridden the board works hansen a.k.a. c/h pro model for allmost 3 years. The board performs well in allmost any size surf 1 foot to double overhead. Nose riding is a dream in 1 to 4 foot surf. I have tested this board at many beach breaks and reef breaks throughout SoCal. Swamis, D-Street, and Cardiff to name a few local spots. I have also taken this board to Cabo and surfed zippers overhead and the board was phenom. The board is also very durable bieng epoxy. I have had the same board for 3 years and have not had to be ding repaired once. That being said, if you killer want a killer 9'4" for your quiver this one rips. Have a blast mohalo. |
5-1-2008: From Shawn Holder
Hey Josh - This is from Shawn Holder, Pannikin guy and part of the Dempsey Holder
surf family from I. B. who spoke to you about the Delray Superboards I have been riding the last two years. My son, Dempsey Holder, and I have been riding Delray boards for a couple of years and both feel they are the best boards we have ever owned. Dempsey rides a 6'2" Stingray 4 fin and rips on it from 3' to North County close out. I have been riding a 10'6" Sugerboard. It paddles great, is loose and super fast. You can ride these things long because the fin setup allows
you to ride forward and still rip on the face. Thanks and good luck with these boards, they are great!

I bought this 9’6” Boardworks Bruce Jones surfboard and it really has worked pretty good. Not a lot going on with the shape other than a little spoon in the nose and turned down rails in the tail, but it really did work well in all types of surf especially small waves. I ride longboards almost exclusively and so when I do not have a chance to check waves and just want a board I know I will have fun on this is the board I always grab. Keep surfing!

I just rode the 9’0” Boardworks Hydro Hull Stewart and it was insane! I loved the performance that the hull design gave me. It has medium rocker so it does not push to much water and it turned really well off the tail, but still was quite fast down the line as you moved towards the front of the board. The epoxy material is a bit stiff, but I loved the durability more than the fact the board is a little stiff. I a bigger guy and the board had good float if the waves had a little more push. I would say the board is more of a high performance shape and with my size at 235 pounds works better in a little bigger surf. If you want a smaller wave board with some performance maybe go to the 9’6” |

The Mike Hyson Twinzer fish was the perfect board for me when I took my trip to El Salvador. It gave me stability and speed on these perfect right point breaks. The board I was riding was a epoxy model and it was a little bit unstable if the water got choppy, but because we surfed the majority of the time in the morning and evenings during glass off it worked great. The board is quite flat which gave me tons of speed and allowed me to make fast sections with ease. The board also turns pretty well with the thinned out fish tail and the twinzer fin setup and so on the really fast sections I was able to run out into the flats a bit and then make a solid direction change back to the white water. I have been riding this board for awhile now and it seems to be the surfboard a go to in most conditions. Keep in mind I do most of my surfing at Beacons and the wave for the most part is perfect for a fish. |

As soon as summer kicks in my longboard will get dusted off and see plenty of action. It's a 9'2 x 23 x 3 Joel Tudor Diamond Tail. With old school rails and flat, noserider rocker to it, it is ideal for mushy summer surf. I like riding fish shapes a lot when the waves are small but when the surf's almost flat and I still want to paddle out, this board works really well. People have occasionally asked me how these classic longboards surf because I just don't think every surfer has had a chance to get on something like this and I always tell them that these types of boards are actually built to be "slow." They obviously have a lot of glide which equates to a bit of speed because they are big, thick, heavier boards but with no sidefins and no downrails, they are built to hang back in the pocket which is where you want to be to get to the nose. I use this board quite a bit but throughout the winter it doesn't get wet too often. It seems to be best when the waves are microscopic. Even when the waves are tiny I still manage to get plenty of rides. |
